Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
