Real Madrid's Alexander-Arnold Could Face Liverpool in Forthcoming European Clash

The English defender training

The Spanish giants brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold's comeback is advancing smoothly, raising possibility that the Madrid defender might be fit soon enough to confront his old team Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old player sustained a muscle strain while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold exited the pitch in the fifth minute, with early reports suggesting a possible layoff of around six weeks.

Real Madrid are set to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League match—exactly over a month since the incident took place.

Reports familiar with the player's condition state that the player's recovery is moving along well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his initial return to Anfield since joining Los Blancos in the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that leaving the team he joined as a six-year-old youth talent was the "toughest choice he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold made over 350 appearances, helping win two English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

Since moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions across various tournaments, logging 156 minutes of playing time.
