Paceman Gus Atkinson Exacerbates the English team's Injury Concerns.

'Major setback' for the English camp as Atkinson is forced off with a hamstring injury.

Gus Atkinson added to England's injury problems when he left the ground during Saturday's play of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

The pace bowler experienced discomfort in his hamstring post-delivery that he bowled on Saturday.

The touring camp stated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and was to take time on the sidelines for further assessment "in the coming hours".

The series decider of the series at the SCG starts this coming Sunday.

England have been without fast bowlers one seamer due to knee trouble and another paceman to a side strain during this series.

Matthew Fisher was added to the party as injury reinforcement.

The seamer had a tough time during the first two matches, taking just three wickets.

He was left out from the previous Test, then recalled for the Melbourne Test in the playing XI.

The county bowler showed better form in Melbourne, taking two wickets during the host's first knock, then making 28 with the bat being one of only three teammates who passed ten runs.

Post a single over late on the first day, he resumed for the second day's play and removed Scott Boland taken by the wicketkeeper.

Unfortunately, towards the conclusion of his spell, he sent down a slower ball to the batsman and promptly felt at his leg.

Atkinson was recalled for the Boxing Day Test after being left out of the third.
