Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
