Exploring a Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Turdy Character in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have discovered numerous entertaining creations from small studios. Yet, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure features a hero that is truly a dung trying to make its way to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: just use a one button to leap. In 150 challenges, you'll face boss fights and unlock a market to acquire customizations for your poop character.

Execute your actions with caution, since one wrong move requires beginning again. Bounce on bubbles to launch your character higher, cross crumbling surfaces, and activate switches to open new areas. Earn UN-KOINS to purchase more difficult stages where gameplay gets crazy.

Visually, the experience features vibrant environments and an amazing music score. The simple visual style featuring morphing abstract forms evokes memories of fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's difficult to recall previous releases where you control a dung character, interactive entertainment have long included toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players craft explosives from protagonist waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as plant food. Unsurprisingly, such content shows up heavily in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Despite its silly premise, Unko Technica has already garnered notable accolades, including winning at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is available at present on Steam, with the complete version set to arrive on PC this November.
