19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since spring of that year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour title, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet defended 4 early-game break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
